Fine decor inspired by beautiful Zarzuela operas.

Bathroom floor tile was cracked and shower door did not close properly.

Very close to the sights. The staff is very friendly.

Breakfast is very modest. No kettle in the room.

Excellent location, delicious breakfasts, silence in the room, despite the proximity of noisy streets. The hotel is warm and cozy.

There was no such thing.

The property was in the heart of the city.

The breakfast was a bit below the 4* hotel standards.

Very well situated, with all tourist locations (museums, galleries, old town, squares, etc) within easy walking distance. Hotel modern and bright, albeit on a narrow street and looks nothing much from outside. However, rooms are bright and airy, and most (including ours) face onto a quiet internal courtyard.

Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful, but some concerns that hot food (bacon, mushrroms, sausage, egg, etc) was barely more than lukewarm

I booked double room with local channels, a king bed, for instance. Slices of fresh bread, cereal, eggs and cheese were fabulous and overall there was a wide range of food.

The hotel was of a very good standard in a very good location, although it is located in a backstreet but was very convenient for the Place du Sol and the Grand Via. Great value meal at the hotel's sister Hotel Astoria just round the corner.

The location was fantastic, just off a bustling area yet peaceful at night 🙌. The staff were super friendly, always ready to help and even listened patiently to my broken Spanish, that's something 👍

Yeah, it wasn't exactly a bargain but, I suppose, acceptable for a place like this.

Staff was very helpful, especially charming was Pedro. Location was central yet quiet. Hotel and rooms were very attractive. Breakfast was excellent. Nice lobby. Within 2 blocks of 2 metro stations.

Excellent Breakfast, with fruits, regional foods and coffee machine Nespresso. Perfect localization, nearest puerta del Sol. Has a good restaurant for dinner.

When we arrive the hotel had a hot water problem and we had to pass two of three nights at the Gran Hotel Velasquez that we strongly recommend despite being farther away from the center. The great advantage of Maria Elena is the location in the city center.

I didn't the view from the window, it was turned to 3 walls and some windows from another place.
